“We will not obey”. Obey what exactly? Let’s find out shall we?

“We respectfully warn the Supreme Court not to cross that line,” Wow what line? I’ve discussed this before. There is a difference between the Christian view of marriage and the LEGAL standing a man-made law grants. In this case the law doesn’t apply nor protect all people equally and you are on the wrong side of that debate claiming precedence over man’s law.

“We stand united together in defense of marriage. Make no mistake about our resolve.” Good for you. As soon as an equal protections claim is brought you lose. See in this country all laws must protect all citizens the same, all laws must apply to all citizens the same. In this country I a free from you ramming your religious beliefs down my throat and I am free from you using the power of the state to do so as well.

Nice try though your argument is already finished and you just can’t see it yet but we’ll continue shall we.

“While there are many things we can endure, redefining marriage is so fundamental to the natural order and the common good that this is the line we must draw and one we cannot and will not cross,” Common good? Fundamental? More like it’s fun for you to be mental. Lakota society for 10,000 years flourished without YOUR religion, YOUR narrow view of love and marriage and YOUR bigotry and hatefulness. Where do YOUR fun-da-mental views stand there as they are already PROVEN wrong just now.

“Once same-sex marriage is elevated to the level of protected status “ What you mean sir is once we stop being bigoted asshats who think they can dictate morality to the world. Once we start protecting all people equally under all laws the end of western civilization is at hand? There is a problem with your logic again. Western civilization prides itself on “freedom of religion” I would never use the state to force my beliefs on you and therein lies the difference between me and you. I simply want all state and federal laws to apply equally to every citizen where you want discrimination based on YOUR faith.

“It says that it doesn’t matter and that two moms or two dads are absolutely equivalent to a mom and a dad.” Show me where my son has suffered having two moms. He is as good a young man as any you’ve raised. Oh and he very much likes girls so being raised by two moms hasn’t “made” him gay.

“It’s the foundation for the entire culture. It’s been in existence for 5,000 years. If you weaken it or if you undermine it – the entire superstructure can come down. We see it as that important.” And mine existed twice as long as yours and thrived until yours came and committed genocide. Oh sorry that is politically incorrect to say because it might offend Christians who came here and killed millions of my people. The Sioux nation numbered in the millions and when the gracious western Christians came they killed nearly all. Yeah your morality is better than mine and you unique idea of the American dream, yeah the same one my people lived a thousand plus years before you thought of the idea.

“Yes, I’m talking about civil disobedience,” Staver said. “I’m talking about resistance and I’m talking about peaceful resistance against unjust laws and unjust rulings.” Unjust laws are ANY law which doesn’t provide the same protections and guaranties to all citizens. Marriage as a law is just such an UNJUST law. So I expect you’ll stay home since it will be made just finally.

“I’m calling for people to not recognize the legitimacy of that ruling because it’s not grounded in the Rule of Law,” I’ve already proven it is grounded in the rule of law as the higher law you are ignoring is the equal protections promised in the constitution.

1. The Equal Protection Clause is part of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The clause, which took effect in 1868, provides that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction “the equal protection of the laws.”

Ahh but you think you can deny me equal protection. WRONG!

Marriage is a LAW of man not god. Every wedding is concluded with “By the power vested in me by the state of ……” By the state NOT god!

You are also ignoring the fact that church and state must remain separate. Remember when pharmacists who wouldn’t fill prescriptions for contraceptives because they believed it immoral? That was struck down real quick because you can’t force your faith on others. The court ruled “Religious freedom does not mean that you can ignore portions of your job, administer only the portions of the law that you like, deny services to the public based on your personal beliefs or infringe on the rights of another.” It was a unanimous decision by the way. As would an equal protections challenge be expected to be the same.

“They need to resist that ruling in every way possible. In a peaceful way – they need to resist it as much as Martin Luther King, Jr. resisted unjust laws in his time.” Yup you should resist unjust laws, glad you joined the side that will win and that’s mine. Glad you finally see your myopic world view and feeling of moral superiority have blinded you to what is just and unjust under the law. Dr. King is a perfect example as he fought against laws which didn’t protect people equally and stupid ideas like separate but equal. The same reason we can’t have “separate but equal” marriage laws.

because separate always means not equal. In that case the court ruled that ANY law must protect all citizens in a equal fashion as per the design of the constitution. They cited the equal protections clause in that case and rightfully so.

“We’re facing a real Constitutional crisis if the Supreme Court rules adversely from our perspective on same-sex marriage,” Wrong the only way it can rule on a constitutional basis is for equal protections and separation of church and state. It can only strike down the law as unjust or modify it to be just.

“Right now the courts are changing the playing field and declaring that what the natural eye can see and natural law reveals is not truth. … What will we do, and how will we respond?” The only changing they are doing is not allowing your narrow view of morality to corrupt the law and equality.

“We cannot compromise our clear biblical convictions, our religious convictions.” Among those being to love your neighbors and not just love Christians. You show no love by willfully allowing a law of man to unjustly persecute me. That was your greatest commandment after have no other before me. Not much love here so how strongly do you cling to those professed beliefs? Not very sir.

The freedom of religion is to protect people from state forced religious persecution. It is about not allowing the power of government dictate narrow minded self-appointed religious morality nor religion upon others. To claim the LAW of marriage is protected under your bible is to use the state to enforce your religion.

Nice try though you failed on every statement. The law is clear, the constitution is clear. All laws must be equal to EVERY citizen and your narrow minded view of a law from a religious perspective or a biblical prospective has simply been struck down over and over again. Just like the pharmacists who refused birth control prescriptions fell so shall this law fall. Why? Because it discriminates based solely of a single religious view and is using the power of the state to force a religious held view upon all citizens.

Now as stated I am for compromise but folks that compromise window is closing because soon the courts will be forced to strike down your view in favor of an equal protections and religious free new and improved version of the law.

And guess what. That law will still be called “marriage” and it will extend to protect me and not just some biblical view as you see it.
